▷ Training completed by 700 headquarters employees, with the program expanding to approximately 3,000 participants, including employees at sites nationwide and partner company managers
▷ Combines mandatory occupational safety and health training with customized online courses to embed safety awareness across the organization
Kolon Global has broadened its employee training beyond cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to include first aid for everyday emergencies, strengthening employees’ ability to respond to critical situations.
The company announced on October 22 that it is conducting CPR and practical first aid training for headquarters employees from October 21 to 23 at the main building of Kolon Tower in Gwacheon.
The program was designed to improve initial emergency response capabilities and embed respect for life and safety awareness throughout the organization. Approximately 700 headquarters employees, including CEO Kim Youngbum, participated. The company also plans to complete training for employees and partner company managers at 73 sites nationwide within the fourth quarter of this year.
This year’s training places particular emphasis on practical application. Through classroom instruction and hands-on exercises, participants learned CPR, how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and how to respond to emergencies they may encounter in daily life or at work, including choking using the Heimlich maneuver, fractures, and bleeding.
The program covers approximately 3,000 participants in total, including employees at the Gwacheon headquarters and sites nationwide, as well as partner company managers. Taking into account differences in working environments and conditions at each site, professional training providers visit the locations to deliver hands-on instruction.
Starting this year, the company is also offering “KGC Customized Online Training,” which addresses risk factors specific to each business division, alongside mandatory occupational safety and health training. The initiative aims to strengthen company-wide safety and health capabilities, supporting both emergency response and the prevention of occupational accidents.
A representative from Kolon Global stated, “We have expanded the scope of training so that employees can respond promptly not only to situations requiring CPR but also to a wide range of emergencies that may occur in everyday life.” The representative added, “By linking this program with occupational safety and health training, we will continue to create an environment in which every member of the organization takes personal responsibility for safety and puts it into practice.”
Kolon Global regards employee health and safety as core values underpinning corporate sustainability. The company plans to continue hands-on first aid training and safety and health education tailored to each business division, fostering a prevention-focused safety culture.
