Kolon Global (CEO & President Kim Youngbum) marked its 66th anniversary with a ceremony connecting its headquarters and sites nationwide, reaffirming its commitment to creating synergies across its integrated businesses and fostering a more proactive organizational culture.
The company held its 66th anniversary ceremony on October 13 at the main auditorium of the Kolon headquarters building. It was the first anniversary celebration since the integration of its leisure and asset management (AM) businesses in December last year. Award recipients and headquarters employees attended in person, while employees at construction sites, hotels, resorts, and Sporex facilities nationwide joined in real time via a livestream.
This year’s ceremony was designed as an open, communication-focused event to strengthen collaboration across business divisions. Seats were assigned through a random draw without regard to division, and CEO Kim Youngbum sat at the same tables as employees to engage in conversation. Internal communication programs, including a company-wide congratulatory video contest and an anonymous appreciation message event, were also held to strengthen organizational cohesion.
The event also featured the ACE-PLUS awards, recognizing employees and outstanding sites for their contributions to the company’s development. Certificates and bouquets were presented across a total of 28 representative recipient categories. The recipients included four representatives, selected by length-of-service category, from among 184 employees eligible for long-service awards, six outstanding completed construction sites, and 19 merit award recipients comprising 14 individuals and five teams.
In his anniversary address, Kim Youngbum, CEO of Kolon Global, stated, “We are grateful for the dedication of our employees, who have built our 66-year history. Through closer collaboration, we must create synergies that go beyond integration.” He continued, “We must shift from an organization that simply carries out instructions to one that takes initiative,” adding, “By reducing unnecessary procedures and practices and actively adopting digital systems and artificial intelligence, we will continue to pursue sustainable growth toward our centennial.”
Building on the business portfolio established through the integration, Kolon Global plans to maximize its core competitiveness and continue transforming the way it works.
