Kolon Industries (CEO Kim Young-beom) will present a blueprint for a sustainable future based on carbon-reducing technologies and eco-friendly products at the world's largest industrial textile exhibition.

Kolon Industries announced on April 24th that they would showcase Aramid (product name: Heracron®), PET (Polyester) long fiber nonwovens (product names: Finon® & Finon Eco), and PET suede (product names: Chamude® & Chamude Eco) at the Techtextil 2024 being held from 23th to 26th April in Frankfurt, Germany.

Techtextil 2024 is the world's largest exhibition presenting innovative materials and technologies for a wide range of industrial textiles. It has been held bi-annually since the first event in Frankfurt, Germany in 1986. This year, it is expected to feature over 1,300 companies from 50 countries and attract more than 40,000 visitors.

Kolon Industries are planning to share innovation stories of their flagship product, Aramid. At the end of last year, the company doubled its facilities to expand its Aramid production capacity to 15,310t. The company is seeking to enhance customer value by applying digital transformation to production processes – improving delivery, maximizing quality control, and reducing carbon based on energy monitoring. In addition, Kolon Industries plan to double its production capacity for Aramid Pulp to 3000t in the second half of this year, and introduce products manufactured with improved energy efficiency (carbon emissions reduced by 30%).

Kolon Industries will also introduce eco-friendly products made from recycled post-consumer PET bottles. The company has increased its market share for PET long-fiber nonwovens used in carpets in the European market by obtaining global eco-friendly certifications (GRS, EPD), and plans to expand its presence in North American and European markets in filtration materials, flooring materials, and automotive interiors. For PET suede, Kolon Industries plan to expand the customer base in car interior and home decoration materials by highlighting the eco-friendliness of their products in the European market, based on the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and Oeko-Tex (Potentially Hazardous Substance) certifications.

"We are participating in this exhibition as it provides a good opportunity to promote our differentiated technologies in the textile sector in the global marketplace," said Choi Young-baek, an executive director of Kolon Industries. "Since the European market is leading change in the eco-friendly sector, we plan to actively promote our sustainability implementation technologies at this exhibition."
