Kolon Corporation announces “Eagle Eagle 2023” in New Year’s Remarks

 Kolon Corporation hosted the online 2023 kick-off ceremony on January 2, and announced the New Year’s Remarks and the Kolon emblem that embodies the spirit of the New Year’s Remarks to share with all the staff the way to go in the new year.

The New Year’s Remarks was presented by Choi, Jae-Jun of Kolon Mobility Group, the Employee of the Year 2022, who also took part in drafting the Remarks. Since last year at Kolon Corporation, the Employee of the Year has been presenting the New Year’s Remarks instead of the CEO; this year, Kolon group took an extra step and invited the presenter to also take part in developing the New Year’s Remarks to advance its “empathizing corporate culture.”

 In the New Year’s Remarks, Kolon Corporation defined this year’s business environment as “the era of great threats,” and underscored that it is time to act toward the opportunities that lie beyond the difficulties according to Kolon’s law of growth. It quoted the saying “Chance favors only the prepared mind,” which means thorough preparation is the key to overcoming crisis, and explained that the staff should achieve success through differentiated competitiveness and make “gearing up in turbulent times” more worthwhile.

 In addition, the New Year’s Remarks urged the staff to continue the use of Kolon Corporation’s Knowledge Management System and to strive to produce substantial outcome by deploying digital transformation in all business areas. In order to drive digital transformation (DX) in the manufacturing sector, Kolon launched the DX Promotion Group, led by Kang, Ee-Gu, CEO of Kolon Benit, in 2023. The New Year’s Remarks emphasized that new opportunities in the new era can only be seized when the company leads digital business with a digital-oriented mindset.

 During the kick-off ceremony, the 2023 Kolon emblem was also presented- an eagle that embodies the spirit of the New Year’s Remarks. Since 2013, it has been the tradition of Kolon Group to create a new design for the badge and the bracelet every year, signifying the key message of the respective year, as a means of communication across the staff.

This year’s emblem is “Eagle Eagle 2023,” representing an eagle flying high into the sky in order to snatch its prey. It will remind the staff that they should continue to develop their capabilities and transform crisis into chances for success. The name of the emblem also implies the “eyes burning with passion” that observe the crises and the opportunities. Starting with the “Success Puzzle” in 2003, which implied that no puzzle can be successfully completed if any single piece is missing, Kolon Corporation has been releasing a new Kolon emblem each year reflecting people’s thoughts and the changes of the times, and it has become a unique corporate culture.
