FnC of Kolon Industries (“Kolon FnC”) introduced a new interview method for recruitment for 2023.

Kolon FnC hosted the Recruiting Day, for the first round of interviews of potential 2023 new hires, on November 10 and 11 at the Seoul Common Ground. Unlike the traditional Group-led hiring, Kolon FnC planned and hosted this year’s recruitment on its own for the first time, and the Recruiting Day was conducted in a more casual and comfortable environment.

First, the interviews were conducted by 27 MZ employees of part leader level instead of the team leader level as before. This enabled the part leaders to meet and choose the people they will work with and the horizontal communication practice of the MZ generation could be applied to the job interview. The area was decorated like a café to relieve the tension during the interview. Another outstanding feature of the Recruiting Day was that 2 interviewers and 1 applicant sat at each table to facilitate casual conversation.

The Common Ground that well represents the characteristics of Kolon FnC was used as the venue.

The Common Ground plaza which would decide the first impression of the interview venue was transformed into a camping zone, so as to brush off the stiff and formal atmosphere and to let the applicants feel more comfortable during the interview. Also, the interviewees were able to experience the trendy camping contents and the Kolon Sports brand, which is the face of Kolon FnC. The Recruiting Lounge, specially created within the Common Ground as the waiting area, streamed brand introduction videos for a brief orientation before the interview, while serving refreshments. Messages of support and encouragement from the Kolon FnC staff were displayed to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In addition, the interviewees were advised to come in their “most casual dress code” so that the applicants could express themselves most effectively.

In parallel, recruitment and job fair was hosted for students who wish to pursue career in fashion, after offering them the opportunity to register in advance.

Jung Joo-Hwa, leader of HR planning part in Kolon FnC, commented that “Kolon FnC aims to establish a free and horizontal organization culture. We planned the Recruiting Day to apply this aspiration from the recruitment stage, and it served as an opportunity for a relaxed communication between Kolon FnC that is seriously devoted in fashion and culture and the applicants who are also serious about this industry. Kolon FnC will continue to make new attempts in recruitment going forward.”
