In the New Year’s address released on the 2nd, Kolon Group shared a message with its employees stressing the need to create new value for the group’s future, including the transformation of each business and the development of new business opportunities. 


Kolon Group held a New Year’s ceremony online and released a message outlining the management directions for 2024. The New Year’s address was delivered by Lee Byeong-taek, a Deputy Vice-President of Kolon Industries manufacturing division, who won the ‘One & Only Award’ presented to an executive or employee who achieved the best performance in the previous year. Since 2022, Kolon Group has pursued empathic management by moving away from a top-down approach and encouraging the employees to participate in writing and presenting the company’s New Year’s address. 


The Group reflected the significance of the previous year, saying that the leaders of each company had pulled together their thoughts about the future value of the Group and spent the year preparing for a leap forward. This year will be a year in which the results of all the discussions and debates will be translated into action. 


In the address, the Group highlighted the need to transform its present businesses from a future value perspective and create new opportunities for the future, and further noted that ‘White Paper Management’, a knowledge management system that embodies the Group’s legacy, would be further applied to its business operations to deliver better results. 


The importance of sincere reflection and practice, as well as the need to take responsibility for outcomes, was also emphasized. As part of this, the 11-year old corporate tradition of publishing a ‘Kolon Empathy’ badge and wristband containing the management message, has been suspended. This signals the Group’s intent to promote autonomous / responsible management of each affiliate company and the participation of all employees to bring about success. 


Kolon Group plans to reflect fully on the true meaning of ‘Kolon Empathy’ and refresh this initiative with new commitments.
