▷ Seeking customers in
global markets by promoting sustainable high value-added businesses
▷ Launching a new
eco-friendly brand ‘ECHO’, “as a global leader responding to the needs of the
times”
Kolon ENP (CEO Heo Sung) revealed on the 23rd that it is participating in 'CHINAPLAS 2024', the largest plastic and rubber exhibition in Asia and one of the top three in the world. The exhibition being held at the Hongqiao International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Shanghai, China, until the 26th of this month features around 3,900 companies demonstrating how a circular economy, innovative materials, and digitalization can transform industrial efficiency and productivity.
Last month, the company rebranded itself as Kolon ENP signifying ‘Empowering’, ‘New’ and ‘Possibilities’ to reflect its commitment to creating new possibilities for a sustainable future through advanced cutting-edge technologies.
Participating in CHINAPLAS 2024 is part of this vision. Kolon ENP intends to promote its high value-added businesses pursued as part of its sustainable management strategy and explore potential customers in global markets.
Kolon ENP’s booth at CHINAPLAS 2024 showcases the theme of sustainability. On display are five engineering plastics products ('PA & PBT', 'POM', 'TPC-ET', and 'KompoGTe®'), including eco-friendly materials, core materials for next-generation mobility and composite materials.
Kolon ENP also launched its eco-friendly product brand 'ECHO' at the exhibition.
Added to its flagship POM (polyoxymethylene) lines are ‘ECHO-B’ using bio-waste materials to replace petrochemical-based materials; ‘ECHO-LC’ (Low Carbon) based on materials produced by captured carbon; and ‘ECHO-E’ based on materials produced by green hydrogen utilizing renewable energy.
In the compound range, the company launched ‘ECHO-R’, an eco-friendly product that reduces waste and carbon emissions by recycling plastics discarded by end-users or generated as industrial by-products. ECHO-R is made from two types of recycled materials: post-industrial recycled (PIR) materials, which are recycled from products that have reached the end of their lifecycle in the production process, and post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials, which are extracted and reprocessed from the products used by end-consumers.
"We intend to showcase our various engineering plastic products including sustainable eco-friendly products, and lead the market with differentiated technology," said Heo Sung, CEO of Kolon ENP. "We will continue to develop products that meet the needs of the future, and take a further step forward to becoming a global leader."
At the same time, Kolon ENP will step up its efforts to attract global customers through its high-value-added products such as the KOCETAL® M-Series, a medical-grade POM product, which comply with biocompatibility and food-contact regulations based on strict quality controls.
